BYMS Leadership Class Attends CASL Field Trip
Leadership recently attended the California Association of Student Leaders (CASL) on March 30-April 1, a field trip to San Jose, CA. Carley Austin, Eric Berndt, Meagan Boots, Maia Dias, Jayden Pritchett, David Sanchez, and Olivia Yerkes had the privilege of going away as a group.
“The purpose of this field trip was to provide team building and the opportunity to network with another school in order to help evaluate what we do at Bernardo,” stated Mr. Kish in an interview with The Matador Messenger.
While they were there, they participate in many workshops and team building exercises which had the purpose to strengthen campus awareness and to hopefully improve our school.
One of the students that went was Meagan Boots. In an interview with the Matador Messenger, Boots stated “My favorite workshop was something called Meet The Pros. It’s where you went around to different tables and learned about something that schools did. I learned to make people feel more welcomed.”
Jayden Pritchett was another student in Leadership that went to the field trip. Her favorite workshop was also “Meet The Pros,” she liked it because a bunch of students from all over California made a trifold with a topic/event that they hosted at their school. “I learned how to advocate for those who don’t know how to advocate for themselves. I also liked the idea of Kindness Week.”
