BYMS Track Team Prepares for R.E.A.C.H Foundation District Meet
BYMS students interested in participating in the 2017 R.E.A.C.H Foundation Middle School Track Meet to be held on Wednesday April 5th, 2017 at Yorba Linda High School and are encouraged to attend training sessions every Tuesday, starting February 7th, by meeting on the bleachers by the BYMS track at 3:30-4:30.
In an interview with the Matador Messenger, BYMS P.E. teacher and track coach, Sarah Barton, stated, “Practice is on Tuesdays 3:30-4:30. They need to wear running shoes and P.E. clothes. Students can still sign-up, but they need to come and talk to Ms. Barton first.”
On the day of the event, all students will ride in the school bus to Yorba Linda High School, and is highly encouraged that all students stay till the end of the meet and ride back to the BYMS campus with their team.
Track team members may prepare for the 100, 200, and 300 yard dash, plus the mile run. Field events include shot-put, long jump, and high jump.
If a student who has more than one F, they cannot participate in the track meet. Students will still be responsible of their own homework and their education.
