BYMS Holds Last Spirit Rally of the Year

The 2015-2016 school year is shortly coming to an end, and we all know what that means…it’s time for BYMS to have our last spirit rally of this school year!  BYMS has four spirit rallies every year, one for each quarter. For this quarter,  the occasion took place on May 25. This event is to have fun and encourage students to do their best in school.

There were a series of games that students and teachers participate in, courtesy of BYMS leadership members who organize the entire spirit rally along with their teacher, Mr. Kish. In-between games, each teacher received a list of a certain amount of students who scored either a bronze, 2.0-2.9 GPA, silver, 3.0-3.49 GPA, or gold, 3.5-4.0 GPA.

When the teachers announced the students names, thereafter they formed a circle starting at the stage that goes around the other students who are sitting on tarps on the field that is in the middle of the track. Once all of the names were called, everyone gave them a round of applause for all of their hard-work.

With every spirit rally, the games evolve and new activities are introduced! AT this rally, Shaylee Matthews, ASB President, and Hailee Holdiman, Leadership Member, split up the seventh and eighth graders and had a cheering battle. In the end, I’m pretty sure the eighth graders won… but who’s to say, I am a little bit bias. Following this grade battle, Mr. Marshall, BYMS’ Assistant Principle, was covered in whipped cream from head to toe, being that one of the games was to see which team of two could hit him as close to his face as possible with a pie! Though it’s hard to believe, these were only a couple of the entertaining games played at this spirit rally.

Though this was the last spirit rally for the 2015-2016 eighth graders of BYMS, they definitely won’t forget this amazing experience!
