Beth Conrad and Tony Di Maio Receive Masonic Lodge Award

BYMS students, Tony Di Maio and Beth Conrad, were presented with the Masonic Lodge Award for outstanding student in the 2015-16 school year at a dinner held at the Masonic Lodge in Yorba Linda on Thursday, April 14.

This award recognizes one boy and one girl from each middle school in PYLUSD, Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District. Students are nominated by one of their teachers.

The teachers look for students who has shown great improvement or overcome obstacles in the year. The students are recognized with a dinner at the lodge and an award ceremony with their families, mentioned Mr. Marshall, BYMS Assistant Principal.

“The Masonic award was an award/dinner. We went down stairs, ate, then went back upstairs and I got the award and a medal. Mr. Marshall, BYMS representatives, Beth Conrad, Miss Barton, My mom, my sister, and Beth’s dad all came to the lodge with me. I was surprised that I won!” explained Tony Di Maio, a BYMS eighth grader.

“I was very excited and astonished because I had never heard of this award before, I was grateful to be given to me. I was told I was chosen because I am a student who is always improving, I am a good role model and because I have excellent grades,” Beth Conrad stated, an eighth grade student at BYMS.
