There were people in the audience wondering if we were a high school or a middle school.”

Every group played about 7-8 songs. Some of them were light music like “Disney’s Magical Marches” and “Do-Re-Mi” to serious music like Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Capriccio Espagnol”. The jazz band played some original compositions and then some pieces from the 60’s like “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy” and “Watermelon Man”.

A few days after the event we reached out to members of band and orchestra for information on how the students feel. “It was actually easy to perform there because we practiced everyday at school and at home which made us very confident in our performance”, quote from Neil Bondoc Advanced Strings student. “ It was the happiest place in the world; but I felt so alone,” stated Manav Patel after being asked about what it was like being at the park.
