Career Day at Bernardo Yorba Middle school has been announced April 15. Career Day happens once every two years at Bernardo Yorba Middle School. Career Day is a chance for students to see what kind of jobs they could have when they are older.

“Career Day is organized every other year to give students the opportunity to see a variety of career choices that adults do in our community. Each presenter shares with our students the education needed to qualify to do that work that they do. It is also a fun time to ask questions of the presenter. Career day is a unique and fun event to connect students with the importance of their education and to set career goals for the future,” stated BYMS Counselor Mrs. Pendleton.

At Bernardo Yorba Middle School there will be up to thirty presenters volunteering this day. PTA parents can possibly help assist in hosting a small brunch for the volunteers in an extended break. After they have had their break they will go back to showing students their unique careers.

“I enjoy putting this day together for the students and for the entire school. I feel that the time spent in organizing this day is well worth it. The students get the opportunity to enjoy several presentations that day, to hear some interesting and fun personal stories that are shared. They also get to learn about the educational requirements and commitments that each job entails, and glimpse of seeing some of the job in “action”, stated school counselor Mrs. Pendleton.
