“I like the board game club because, not only do board games interest me, they are a great way to get people together,” stated 8th grade BYMS student Jaden Cadaro, member of the board game club.  “Board games allow people to become better friends with each other, with a little competition mixed in.”

The Board Game Club is sponsored by Mr. Fain and Mrs. Stack, BYMS math teachers and meets, in the library, at 3:15 to 4:00 p.m., every Tuesday.

“It’s really a great way to learn. There’s a whole bunch of thinking involved,” stated Mrs. Stack, BYMS math teacher and club sponsor. “Ticket to Ride is an awesome, awesome game, and nobody gets eliminated in the middle of the game,” stated Mrs. Stack with enthusiasm, and she continued. “You really don’t know who has won until the end.”

This week, the Board Game Club played “Ticket to Ride.” The object of the game is to create the longest railroad with trains. The player, who builds the railroad, has to have matching cards to build the railroad. At the end of the game, the player with the longest railroad gets bonus points. The winner of the game is determined by who has the most points.

Mr. Fain and Mrs. Stack both would like to encourage the Matadors to visit the Board Game Club more often. “It’s open to everyone,” they both stated.  Snacks are provided.
