“The goal of JUMP club is to generate interest in junior high students for the medical field,” said Mrs. Hanger, the JUMP Club adviser at BYMS. JUMP Club meets every first and third Thursday in each month and informs 8th graders about the medical careers.
When the students meet, they start the day with the agenda of the meeting being read by Tyler Long, the JUMP Club president. Then the proceed with the flag salute. After, they continue on with their meeting; whether it be a guest speaker or an informational meeting about informing BYMS with medical news.
“JUMP also helps students understand at an early age that a career in medicine is a difficult course of study and that students need to become self disciplined and motivated to get through the academic rigors of these courses,” stated Mrs. Hanger
