The Marching Matadors Take Otay Ranch

The BYMS Marching Matadors received sweepstakes from the Otay Ranch Town center Band Review in Chula Vista on November 8, 2014.

The entire band earned sweepstakes while color guard earned 2nd place with the drum major, Myka Comea, earned 2nd place as well.

“I’m very proud of 1st period and how they stepped up during the competition zone,” commented Rita Watson the BYMS Band Director. “I was really proud of our band this season, not only because they achieved the highest scores, but because they had the best spirit. I am really excited to see them perform next year,” stated Myka Comea the drum major for BYMS.

In addition to performances at the Placentia Heritage Parade and the PYLUSD’s District Band Pageant, the Marching Matadors also were awarded 1st place at the Buckboard Day parade in Rowland Heights on October 18, 2014.

The Marching Matadors are also participants in a parade performance at Disneyland every year. This year they will be attending November 14, 2014.
