“The goal is to alleviate the issue for some students of having to go home and do the work alone,” said Mr. Seitz, 8th grade science and social studies teacher, BYMS National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) adviser and Homework Club adviser.
“The best part of helping kids at homework club is getting the experience of helping kids,” said eighth grader Dylan Strong who is in NJHS.
Homework Club was formed two years ago in 2012 when Mrs. Ogan, the former BYMS Assistant Principal came to Mr. Seitz about the idea for struggling students. Students can come to homework club every Wednesday in room 606 from 3:15 to 4:00 to receive homework help from NJHS and Leadership students.
“The best part about being in homework club is being able to be done with homework and not having to do it at home.”said 8th grader Brandon Guytan, a homework club attendee.
