Starbucks Customer Confronts Barista for Charging Her Credit Card

A video showing customer Juana Martinez confronting a Lakewood, California 19 year old Starbucks’ cashier who stole her credit card information and spent over $200 has gone viral, according to nydailynews.com.

“A Starbucks customer was so steaming mad that a barista allegedly stole her credit card number, she served up a strong cup of revenge,”  stated huffingtonpost.com.

Juana Martinez was suspicious about the cashier when she ordered her drink because the cashier took longer than she needed to get more receipt paper, reported kutv.com. When Juana Martinez saw that $212 was spent on her credit at Ralph’s that was not from her, she immediately thought of the cashier, stated nydailynews.com.

“So we got you on camera yesterday at Ralphs for $212, so just know that the cops are coming up here,” Martinez said in the video, reported kutv.com.

Martinez confronted the cashier in a very angry manner on Sunday, January 3 according to nydailynews.com. At first, the cashier tried to play dumb and admitted to nothing, but then she just started blurting out apologies added nydailynews.com.

“Martinez told The News the cashier stole money that would have been used for her three children, all 6 years old and younger, as well as her husband, an eight-year veteran of the Army stationed in California,” reported nydailynews.com. In response to this, the cashier admitted she stole Martinez’s card numbers, then she pleaded she was a “good child” and she begged Martinez to dropped the charges. “You come to Starbucks to get coffee, not to get robbed,” Martinez yelled at Chanel in the viral video according huffingtonpost.com.

After Juana Martinez decided to drop the charges on the young cashier. she explained why; “I think this is a worse punishment, honestly. I think it’s more than enough that she’s all over the Internet. People will know who she is,” stated Juana Martinez. “Starbucks told Fox News that the employee no longer works for the chain and called the incident “completely unacceptable,” added huffingtonpost.com.

“Everyone deserves a second chance, hopefully she learns from this. That’s the moral of the story. You can’t go stealing people’s credit card information without consequences,” Martinez stated.
