The Sketchboard Pro solves the problems for digital artists, such as numbness in the hands or pain in the neck. With fold-out legs, it gives a 20-degree incline.
With 676 backers this Kickstarter project has $43,510 of a $90,000 goal. The Sketchboard Pro has to meet its goal by Friday, November 1st.
The Sketchboard Pro is available on Kickstarter as a project right now. By pledging money investors receive the Sketchboard Pro as a reward. In an interview with the Matador Messenger, JJ Harrison stated, “We have initially offered the Sketchboard Pro for $50.00 to our earliest supporters.” The developers hope to set the retail price at $50.00. JJ Harrison and his team are planning to sell it at major online retailers including Amazon.
This model supports all 12.9 iPad Pros from 2015 to 2017. Magnetic plates placed in the Sketchboard Pro help to keep the iPad Pro in place to avoid it from accidentally falling out when the user may need to move from one spot to the next.
Sketchboard Pro creates a flat drawing surface around the screen, so artists are able to relax their arms on the sides of the board and keep a smooth drawing motion all the way to the edges of the iPad. “The Sketchboard Pro lets the artist relax their whole body while it transforms the iPad into a sheet of paper. It’s a much more natural experience for the artist,” state Harrison.
Harrison has a Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Communications from Utah Valley University. Harrison states in an interview with the Matador Messenger, “ It was a very hands-on school where you learn by doing, so I was able to experience working in many different professions including video game designer, film director, and animation storyboard artist all while earning my degree. By the end, I had a vast skillset that ranged from art to engineering and I was able to choose a focus for my career.”
Harrison has worked as a professional illustrator with companies such as Cartoon Network and Disney on many top entertainment properties. He is also running a game studio, at which he invented the Sketchboard Pro to help him work on games.
