Students grades 7-12 are invited to participate in “Exposed – Lucid Dreams”, an art and literature contest held by the Yorba Linda Public Library and the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum.

This year, the theme is “Exposed: Lucid Dreams” and artists will need to interpret this theme and use it to “inspire” their artwork or stories. Judging will be based on how well the drawing or story represents the theme. Artists will also have to include an explanation along with their artwork on a separate paper on how the artwork represents the theme.  Writers will be required to turn in a paper copy of their short story and email a digital version to [email protected]. Make sure that the digital version is in microsoft word, and not in Google docs.

All entries must have been created between July 1, 2019 and November 7, 2019   Drawings, paintings, and photography must not exceed 30 inches tall,  30 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. For digital artwork, it should not  be larger than 14 inches tall, 20 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. Everything must also include an index card with the participant’s name, title of piece, phone number, school, grade, and teacher’s name. Entries exceeding size limitations or missing the completed index card will not be accepted.

The Yorba Linda library website states that artwork has to be received by 8:59 pm on Thursday, November 7, 2019 by the  Yorba Linda Public Library.
