“Dora,” “The Angry Birds Movie 2,” “Playmobil: The Movie,” and “Abominable” Coming Soon to a Theater Near You. 

Now that the June gloom is gone in SoCal, and the summer is heating up, heading to the local movie theater is not only a welcome relief from the heat but has the added bonus of watching the previews from some fresh and fun new movies in 2019.                                                       

Dora and the Lost City of Gold– With a release date of August 9, 2019 (USA), in this animated television favorite, Dora and the Lost City of Gold will be released in the movie theater.  “…has to navigate the wilds of an untamed world — high school — before she heads back to the jungle to try to save her lost parents,” according to goodhousekeeping.com.  This movie is featuring Isabella Moner (Dora), Michael Peña (Dora’s Father), and Eva Longoria (Elena) and is rated PG. The Angry Birds Movie 2- In this movie, the birds and pigs might have to team up for a horrific fight against a bigger monster. Releasing August 16, 2019 (USA), where all the chaotic magic happens. Playmobil: The Movie– This movie which has a release date of August 16 involves “a pair of siblings as they explore Playmobil world,” said goodhousekeeping.com. Abominable- As an extension for the movie Missing Link, DreamWorks is releasing a movie about a group of teenagers who want to reunite a snowman with its family. The movie is coming out on September 27, 2019 (USA), the cast includes Chloe Bennett (Yi), Albert Tsai (Peng), and Sarah Paulson as Dr. Zara. The movie is rated PG. Movie goers interested in “a flash to the past” may enjoy two new feature films, Spies in Disguise and The Addams Family.

Spies in Disguise- This movie will be released September 13, 2019 (USA). The plot involves inventing, stupidity, and it is also based on a short film.  This movie includes Will Smith (Lance Sterling), Tom Holland, DJ Khaled, Karen Gillan, Rashida Jones, Masi Oka, and Ben Mendelsohn. This movie is not yet rated..

The Addams Family- Unlike the television series,  The Addams Family and the feature film Addams Family Values,  this Addams movie is closer to the original New Yorker Comics. The plot involves an unconventional family, family relationships, and eccentricity. With a release date of  October 11, 2019 (USA), this film with feature such actors such as Finn Wolfhard, Chloë Grace Mortez, Oscar Issac, Charlize Theron, Nick Kroll, Bette Midler, and Allison Janney. If people love Disney movies, then here is Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Frozen II, and Stars Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

 

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil– Also to be released in October 18, 2019 (USA), Angelina Jolie reprises her role of Maleficent in a plot that involves a kingdom, fairies, and sequels. Frozen II– Finally after 6 years, children were waiting patiently for a Frozen sequel. On November 22, 2019 (USA), children are ready to a movie theatre near them. The cast if featuring: Kristen Bell (Anna), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff), Idina Menzel (Elsa), Josh Gad (Olaf), and Santino Fontana (Hans). This movie is rated PG. Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker– It is finally happening, the 9th movie of Star Wars! The plot was not announced but there is going to be an adventure featuring: Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), and Jimmy Vee as R2-D2. This movie is releasing December 20, 2019 (USA), and is rated NR.
