Bento Box entertainment, the studio responsible for Bob’s Burgers, is soon going to make a Blues Brothers animated series with Dan Aykroyd producing, according to Animation Magazine.

The series will revolve around the adventures of Jake and Elwood Blues. The show will try to stay true to the movie by featuring a score of R&B music, along with the over the top Chaotic slapstick. Bento Box Entertainment will produce the series, but not yet has a distributor, according to Inquisitr.

“It is such a privilege for us to be able to produce the work of the very same people who played such an instrumental role in creating one of the most iconic, multi-faceted comedy and music brands of all time,” Greenberg said. “Now we all have the rare opportunity to translate the timeless comic genius of Dan and John from live-action to animation, while offering an entirely new generation of Blues Brothers fans the chance to appreciate them,” stated Dan Aykroyd.

Bento Box’s Scott Greenberg, Joel Kuwahara will be the executive producers, along with John W. Hyde of Rehab Entertainment and Blues Brothers manager Eric Gardner. The studio will begin sending the project to broadcasters this May, according to Deadliner.
