The Pokémon Company Plans to Sell New Merchandise and Games to Celebrate Pokémon’s 20th Anniversary
Pokémon Red and Green were released in Japan, on February 27th of 1996. For the 20th year of Pokémon, The Pokémon Company is celebrating their anniversary by selling and giving out limited edition items, according to www.pokemon20.com
Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow have been released on the 3DS Virtual Console with a wireless connectivity feature and small differences from the originals. The games were released on February 27th of 2016 at a $9.99 price point and an option to choose a language before purchasing any one of the games on the Nintendo 3DS eshop stated www.nintendo.com
A recently released Pokémon game is Pokkén Tournament for Wii U. Pokkén Tournament is being sold at the MSRP of $59.99, that had released on March 18. For people who have or will purchase it soon; they will receive a free Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card, which lets you play Shadow Mewtwo, without unlocking him. The Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card is not required to play Shadow Mewtwo and doesn’t give any exclusive content.
Pokémon the First Movie, Pokémon the Movie 2000, and Pokémon the Movie 3 have all be released in Blu-ray, in a set for $34.99 at www.amazon.com
Each month, one mythical Pokémon will be distributed away to owners of Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby, and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire over the internet or through GameStop and Game UK. All Pokémon given away are all free. Visitors can see the entire list of Pokémon being distributed, along with their release dates and their locations here. The Pokémon will be only available for their month and after that will be unobtainable through these means and will likely be unobtainable for a very long time. There will be a Pokémon for every month until the end of December.

The Pokémon Company is selling a Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue styled “New Nintendo 3DS” that features a set of Charizard face plates and a set of Blastoise face plates to put on the new Nintendo 3DS along with a copy of both Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue preloaded into the console, stated www.nintendo.com
The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is getting a new expansion called “Generations” The cover arts for the boosters are pictures of Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, and Pikachu. These boosters will include reprints of older cards as well as new ones. The boosters will be exclusive to the Mythical Pokémon Collection packs that include one promo card of a mythical Pokémon, a pin of the Mythical Pokémon, a code card for Pokémon TCG online, and 2 Generations booster packs; as well as Pokémon TCG: Red & Blue packs, which include an EX card of Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, or Pikachu; a very large EX card of the same Pokémon; a figurine of the Pokémon; and four Generations booster packs, which have one of each of the aforementioned cover arts, explained www.pokemon20.com The prices of these Pokémon packs are $12.99 and $24.99 respectively.
At the end of the year, there will be new main series Pokémon games called Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. Information on the game is very little and the only known information are its title; its logo; the game will now include Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese, bringing the total of language options to 9; migration of Pokemon from the Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow Virtual Console releases to these games; that there will be new Pokémon; and that the game will release sometime in “Holiday” 2016. A trailer for this game was shown, starting off with a montage of all the previous Pokémon games prior with some of their most nostalgic moments, and finally ending with the announcement of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.
