Inside Look: Finding Dory

“My family..I miss them. Do you have any idea what that feels like?”  America’s favorite blue tang, Dory, asks the world-famous clown fish, Marlin and Nemo, in “Finding Dory”’s first released trailer. Ellen Degeneres and Albert Brooks star in the sequel to the classic Pixar film, “Finding Nemo.” The second motion picture will be released on June 17, 2016. To no one’s surprise, the original film made a whopping $921 million in the box office. It also sold over 40 million copies, making it the best selling DVD ever.

America has been patiently waiting, as well as most of the previous cast, to hear from this sequel. It was announced on ‘Ellen’ in April of 2013 that there indeed was going to be a second movie. But, aside from the hilarious plot, the movie also has a moral as DeGeneres explains to her fans. “I think that fish should be in the ocean. It’s what this whole sequel is about: It’s about rehabilitation and putting them back in the ocean … And we have to protect our oceans. Hopefully that discussion starts with this film, because we really need to protect that environment.”

The returning characters include Nemo, Dory, Marlin, the whol Tank Gang, and the pelicans. Some new ones are Bailey, a beluga whale, a whale shark, and Jenny and Charlie, Dory’s parents. Will Dory find her family? Will she get lost along the way? Who will she encounter on her journey? Find out when the feature hits theaters on June 17!
