Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to the singer, Kesha, to help her with the legal dispute between her and her producer, Dr. Luke. She’s added to the group of people who helped, like Lady Gaga, Lorde, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, and much more, according to latimes.com.
“Swift donated $250,000 to the ‘Tik Tok’ singer on Sunday, two days after a judge ruled against Kesha in a case in which she asked to record music independently of producer Dr. Luke,” reported cnn.com.
On Friday, New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich sided with Dr. Luke and Sony at Kesha’s hearing, telling the singer’s legal team, “You’re asking the court to decimate a contract that was heavily negotiated and typical for the industry,” according to rollingstone.com.
Kesha’s lawyer Mark Geragos asked for an injunction because, as he told the judge, the career of a pop star is often brief, and Kesha’s career could be “irreparably harmed” if she did not return to recording music,” stated rollingstone.com.
Kesha’s mom, Pebe Sebert, thanked Swift for her generosity on Sunday, writing, “A person’s wealth is not measured by what they have but by WHO they help with it. Taylor Swift is a truly RICH PERSON. Thank you,” according to usmagazine.com.
The singer,Kesha , filed a lawsuit against her producer in late 2014 for emotionally and physically abusing Kesha since she signed with him when she was 18, according to cnn.com.
