Kanye West Plans to Release an Exclusive Album with Apple

.According to Buzzfeed, one of those exclusive releases looks to be Kanye West’s seventh solo album, SWISH. Kanye’s obsession with Apple is well documented, and it appears the feeling is mutual. Despite being a co-owner of Apple’s streaming music competitor TIDAL, Kanye is reportedly in intense negotiations to premiere his album with Apple, according to consequenceofsound.net.
“Sources say the company has been talking to him about it for some time, but hasn’t yet been able to finalize a deal, and negotiations between Kanye and Jimmy Iovine continue,” reports BuzzFeed. However, it does not appear that the album will debut tomorrow as part of Apple’s big launch, despite rumors.
Last September, Apple infamously premiered U2’s latest album across its platforms, essentially uploading the album to 500 million desktops and iPhones regardless if the owner of the device wanted the music or not. The move drew criticism from many who believed it to be an invasion of privacy. As divisive of a figure as Kanye is, one can only imagine the public reception if Apple pulls a similar stunt for SWISH, reports consequenceofsound.net.
“This is going to be a risky move,” HollywoodLife reporter Bonnie Fuller stated, “but risk is what drives Kanye to new levels.”
