To help in advertising the return of McDonald’s seasonal Shamrock Shake, McDonald’s hired a team of engineers and to “reinvent” the drinking straw and create the limited edition STRAW (Suction Tube for Reverse Axial Withdrawal) says .
“The redesigned STRAW is meant to alleviate the most basic of problems: having to wait for your shake to melt a bit before you can get the perfect mix of chocolate and mint flavors,” statesgeekologie.com.
Engineers and specialists in aerospace created the STRAW with a J-shaped snorkel design with holes along the sides and bottom to make it possible to get the multiple flavors of the shake in one sip, added Gizmodo.com.
Just like the Shamrock Shake, the McDonald’s STRAW will only be available for a limited amount of time. McDonalds.com states, “Due to the STRAW’s unique design, only 2,000 were produced in time for Shamrock season.”
You can obtain McDonald’s new drinking straw by purchasing one of their 4 Shamrock Shakes. These shakes include the Chocolate Shamrock Shake, Shamrock Chocolate Chip Frappé, Shamrock Mocha, and the Shamrock Hot Chocolate. For every McCafé Shamrock Chocolate beverage purchased, McDonald’s will be donating $.25 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) during the week of March 11-17.
